With TV coverage, livestreams, text alerts and social media feeds, millions of people have become obsessed with the Casey Anthony trial.
For six weeks, they've watched as each witness has taken the stand and delivered sometimes stomach-churning details about the case...and now we are just days away from verdict.
Many have said it's a lot like getting hooked on a soap opera. And most would agree, there's definitely enough drama. But this drama isn't for TV it's as real as it gets!
Casey Anthony is on trial for the murder or her 2 year old daughter by the way of Chloroform and suffocation with duck tape. Casey's charges include,
- First-degree murder
- Aggravated child abuse
- Aggravated manslaughter of a child
- 4 counts of providing false information to a law enforcement officer:
- That she worked at Universal Orlando in 2008,
- That she left Caylee with a babysitter named Zenaida Fernandez Gonzalez,
- That she told Jeffrey Hopkins and Juliette Lewis that Caylee was missing,
- That she received a phone call from Caylee on July 15, 2008.
After extensive computer searches, evidence shows that "Chloroform" along with "neck breaking" were made on the Anthony home computer. The only person evidence shows was home was Casey Anthony but Casey's mom Cindy took the stand and said SHE made those searches looking to see if her dogs ate the "Chlorophyll" on the outside plants....
But today, July 1, 2011, just days away from verdict and after the Defense rested it's case...the State came back with a bang and proved with extensive evidence that Cindy Anthony was at work and therefore she could not have made those computer searches!

After 32 days of testimony, Casey never testified but still has not proven her claim that
Caylee drowned in their pool and Casey's dad, George Anthony, helped hide the body. She also claims he molested her in the Defense's Opening Statement. None of this has been proven!
It's been 3 years and in just a few more days we will find out what will happen to Casey Anthony for the murder of her daughter. Judge Belvin Perry says the Jury could reach a verdict as early as Monday, 4th of July.

It started back in July of 2008 when Casey Anthony never reported her daughter missing. 30 days pasted until her mother begged her to tell her where Caylee was, Cindy Anthony called the police.
Casey told her mom and police that she left Caylee at the apartment of a babysitter named Zenaida Fernandez Gonzalez, and that both were missing when she returned. That babysitter never existed.
After lie after lie, including none existent people and even bringing police all the way to the Universal Studios offices to find out she never worked there....And finding out that Casey spend the 30 days her daughter was missing in "hot body contests" and bar-hopping around Orlando.....Casey even got a tattoo that read "Bella Vida," Beautiful Life.
Casey was then named a suspect in her daughter's disappearance and charged with the Caylee's murder in October 2008.
The remains of Caylee's body were found in Orlando, Florida, in December 2008 after a six-month-long search.

The defense, led by Jose Baez, presented its claim that Caylee drowned accidentally in the family's pool on June 16, 2008, and was found by George Anthony, who then covered up Caylee's death. Baez also alleged that George Anthony had sexually abused Casey since she was 8 years old. Baez also claimed that Casey's brother Lee had made sexual advances toward Casey and was even given a paternity test to see if he was Caylee's father.
The prosecution alleges an intentional murder and is seeking the death penalty against Casey Anthony.On June 30, the defense team for Casey Anthony rested, without Anthony testifying in her own defense.
We just hope Caylee gets her justice. RIP Caylee.
